Ludovicus Wolzogen studied theology in Utrecht. Apart from his pastoral work as a Walloon minister, he lectured on church history at Utrecht University (1664) and at the Amsterdam Athenaeum Illustre (1670). His De scripturarum interprete was directed against Philosophia S. Scripturae interpres.
